The Dover Demon is a mysterious small humanoid creature that was reportedly seen by four teenagers in Dover, Massachusetts in 1977. It has a large, egg-shaped head with glowing eyes, a thin body with long arms and legs, and no apparent mouth, nose, or ears. It was described as having a pale, peach-colored skin and tendril-like fingers. Do you ever drive at night along an empty stretch of forest road?
And in one of these evenings, have you spotted a hairless little guy, about waist high, running along the side of the road?
If you’re doing this in Massachusetts, keep a lookout for a short, gangly creature with a rounded head and glowing eyes along the side of the road.
No, not Gollum from Lord of the Rings. He’s just a corrupted hobbit.
And probably not the Roswell aliens. They’re another story..
But instead, you might be seeing the legendary Dover Demon.
According to local tales, on April 21, 1977, teenager Bill Bartlett was driving along Farm Street in Dover, Massachusetts at about 10pm when he was startled by the appearance of a strange creature on top of a broken stone wall.
He drew a sketch of the creature and swore that he was telling the truth. He described the curious figure as having…
large orange glowing eyes. It had no ears, no mouth and no nose. A melon shaped-head, peach-colored rough skin, tendril-like fingers and walked on all fours. and stood about 3 and a half feet tall.
The creature was spotted again on two separate instances.
The second encounter was by John Baxter, who was walking home from his girlfriend's house on Miller Hill Road at around 12:30 a.m. on April 22.
He saw a small figure walking towards him and followed it into the woods until he got scared and turned back.
He also drew a sketch of the creature and described it as having large eyes and tendril-like fingers.
The third encounter was by Abby Brabham, who was riding in a car with her friend Will Taintor on Springdale Avenue at around midnight on April 22.
She saw the creature standing upright next to a tree. Since that evening, the creature has not been seen again.

“I’m pretty sure my friends and I saw the Dover demon. Last month, my friends and I were driving back to work from NY to Massachusetts. It was night, pitch black out and I’ve got terrible lights on my car. I’m driving down the road and off the side of the road I see this creature with a fat head, red eyes and is walking/hopping on 2 legs and is very skinny.
I immediately assume I was just seeing things until my friend goes “what the fuck was that”. We both start screaming waking up our 2 other friends and I step on the gas wanting to get the fuck away from the area.
We drive down the road further and see the thing again. Standing under a tree staring at the car. It becomes an inside joke in our friend group about our demon. We kinda just assumed it was an animal that had rabies or some shit.
Cut to last night when I’m scrolling through tiktok and see the fucking demon. I spend like 45 min looking up pictures and then I text my friend who sends the drawing they drew right after we saw the demon and they are pretty damn similar.”
