Boo Hags are legendary creatures that are part of the Gullah culture in the Sea Islands and coastal plains of South Carolina. They are believed to be evil spirits and can slip into your home through cracks and crevices. They will then suck the air or energy from your lungs while you sleep. In some cases, they'll steal your skin and wear it as a disguise to move among the living.
The text below is the script for the video. Enjoy!
Have you ever been super tired in the morning even though you slept over 6 hours last night?

Well, if you’re in the Lowcountry region of South Carolina, then you could have been visited by a Boo Hag.
What’s a Boo Hag, you say? Well, as described by the local Gullah culture, these terrifying creatures are evil spirits who’d steal your energy by sucking your breath as you sleep.
The Gullahs call it “ridin.”
Hence, the forewarn saying, “don’t let the hag ride ya”.
Once Boo Hags have chosen you as their next victim, they will wait until you’re asleep, then sneak into your bedroom
through some innocent opening such as an open window, keyhole or crack on a wall.
And you won’t see them coming. For you see, in order to find their next victim,
boo hags wear the skin of past victims.
So they look like everybody else.
They WEAR their victim’s skin because they have no skin of their own.
Those unlucky enough to have seen them say that boo hags are reddish in color from exposed muscles and veins.
It is said that boo hags will continue to wear their victim’s skin
until it begins to rot away. Then they’ll just get a new one.
Sadly for you, this could mean that your boyfriend, your wife, your butcher or any regular person in your life may have been dead for a while now.
And you’re likely to be next on the list. And soon, maybe tonight, the Boo Hag might visit and ride you while you sleep.
What if you wake up while a boo hag is riding you?
Well, for one thing, it’s too late. You won’t be able to defend yourself.
They’ll put you in sleep paralysis. And you won’t be able to move.
So WHAT DO YOU DO?
You can watch, that’s probably all you could or should do.
If you wake up during a ridin, you should just watch and let them finish sucking your breath.
But it’s probably better to close your eyes and pretend you’re asleep throughout the whole thing.
Because there’s somewhat of a silver lining to this nightmare.
It turns out that boo hags do not want to kill ALL of their victims. Many are kept alive…
So that the boo hag can come back and feed again.
But if you wake up and struggle during ridin’,
you could become their next skin.
